PSY 3070 - Psychology of Sexual Orientation3(3 + 0)Prerequisite: PSY 1001 and six additional hours of PSY or Permission of instructor This course explores psychological theory and research dealing with sexual orientation, with an emphasis on lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) identity. Topics include historical and theoretical frameworks, homophobia and heterosexism, origins of sexual orientation, LGB identity development and coming out, diversity, relationships and parenting, the role of community, and others.Credit will be granted for only one prefix: PSY or WMS.(WMS 3070) |
