Nursing Major for BRNCO, B.S.

The BRNCO is available to RNs with an associate degree or diploma in nursing.

The program may be offered in class, online and in hybrid class formats.

Thirty semester hours of lower-division nursing credit will be awarded for prior nursing education for qualifying students.

It is recommended that no more than six credits of general education courses remain prior to beginning the Nursing major. At least 40 credits of upper-division courses are required for graduation. Consult with nursing academic advisor for additional requirements.

A grade of C or better is required for each course in this program to count toward the Bachelor’s degree. Students should note that programs differ in the minimum grade required.

Healthcare Elective (3 credits required)


  • Upper division healthcare elective as approved by the Nursing Department.

Subtotal: 66 credits

Required Support Courses


  • Introductory Statistics Course1 (To be approved by the Nursing Department.)

Additional Course Requirements


  • Students must meet MSU Denver’s General Studies course requirements.
