Recreation Services Minor

The Recreation Services Minor assists interested students in getting basic information for part-time or seasonal employment in the recreation and parks fields. A grade of "C" or better is required for each course in this program to count toward the minor. Students should note that programs differ in the minimum grade required.

RECR 1870 - Recreation, Leisure, and Well-Being Credits: 3
RECR 2110 - Recreation Leadership Skills and Techniques Credits: 4
RECR 3330 - Introduction to Therapeutic Recreation Services Credits: 3
RECR 3840 - Design and Maintenance of Recreation and Park Resources Credits: 4
RECR 3970 - Practicum in Recreation, Parks, or Therapeutic Recreation Credits: 3
Select a minimum of 3 semester hours from the following courses:
RECR 2210 - Nature, Leadership, and Outdoor Recreation Credits: 3
RECR 2330 - Advocacy, Leisure, and the Aging Adult Credits: 3
RECR 3930 - Contemporary Issues in Recreation and Parks: Variable Topics Credits: 1-3 *
RECR 4550 - Aquatic Management Credits: 3
RECR 4630 - Recreation Programs for the Older Adult Credits: 3
RECR 4810 - Grants and Grant Writing in the Health Professions Credits: 3
*Courses are numbered 393A-Z and are one to three semester hours.
