ARTH 3300 - Art and Cultural Heritage

Prerequisite(s): Completion of General Studies requirements in Written Communication, Oral Communication, and Quantitative Literacy; ARTH 1500 or ARTH 1600 or ARTH 1700 or ARTH 2100; or permission of instructor.
Description: This course studies the work produced by artists of African, Asian, Latin American, and Native American ancestry and their contribution to art in the United States. A brief introduction to the artistic legacies of Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas is followed by a more focused study of American artists whose creative activity reflects their varied cultural heritages. This course may not be used as the sole art history elective for art studio majors.
