ARTH 3790 - History of Photography

Prerequisite(s): ARTH 1700 or Permission of instructor

Description: This course examines photographs and critical issues surrounding photography in the 19th and 20th centuries. The relationships of photography to the other arts and to literary, political, social and philosophical issues are keys to this discussion. The course briefly surveys photography’s varied histories and then selects particular moments and issues for deeper critical examination.
