MET 3180 - Fluid Mechanics I
Credits: 3 (2 + 2)
Prerequisite(s): MET 3160 with a grade of “C” or better, or permission of instructor
Description: This course covers physical properties of fluids, hydrostatics, kinematics, energy considerations, momentum, and incompressible flow in pipes. Compressible fluid flow will also be studied. Laboratory work includes the calibration and use of equipment to measure hydrostatic forces of objects, verification of Bernoulli Equation, losses in piping systems, flow profiles, and other fluid systems.
