Description: This course is an introduction to generalist social work practice with diverse, urban populations-at-risk. Emphasis is on professional values, roles, relationships, and interviewing of individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Students develop an understanding of the problem-solving approach, including initial contact, data collection, problem definition, and goal setting.
