BVG 3610 - Wines of the World: Variable Topics

Description: In this course, students examine global wine regions. Students compare and contrast major historical and cultural events that have given shape to these regions and created a strong wine culture. There is a strong emphasis on the growing and harvesting, logistics of location, as well as climate and cultural heritage of significant wine regions. Class discussion is complemented by tasting and sensory analysis of regional wines of the world.
Note: All students must present valid ID in order to be served alcohol. Students under the age of 21 years may taste, but not consume alcohol under the State of Colorado “Sip and Spit” law (18-13-122, C.R.S., 12-47-801 C.L.C) and comply with department consumption policies.
This course may be repeated under different topics for up to 6 credits.
