Description: The Graduate Thesis serves as a culminating scholarly experience for students in the Master of Science in Hospitality Leadership and the Master of Science in Event and Experience Management. In this course, students independently design, execute, and present original research that addresses a significant issue in hospitality, tourism, or event management. Students apply and integrate the theoretical knowledge and methodological skills gained throughout the program to investigate a research problem of their choice.
Guided by a faculty advisor, students develop a research proposal, conduct a comprehensive literature review, apply appropriate research methods, and analyze data to generate meaningful findings and implications for the field. The course emphasizes critical thinking, academic writing, and professional presentation skills. Completion of the thesis demonstrates mastery of graduate-level scholarship and contributes to advancing knowledge and practice in the hospitality and events industries.
Students must complete either this course or the Executive Applications in Hospitality and Events (Capstone) course as a graduation requirement.
