The Biology Department offers two majors, the bachelor of science in biology and the bachelor of arts in biology. Supportive courses associated with paramedical studies and criminalistics, as well as general courses for enrichment of the nonscience student’s background, are offered by the department.
Students seeking teacher licensure, either elementary or secondary, should see an advisor in the Biology Department as well as in the teacher education program.
Students interested in preparation for medical school or other health professions should contact the Biology Department for specialized advising. A senior exit exam, administered and required by the department, must be taken during the semester of anticipated graduation. The Biology Department main office is located in Science Building, Room 213, 303-556-3213. A biology minor is offered to students with related majors or a special interest in the field.
