Programs
The Human Performance and Sport Department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Performance and Sport with a concentration in Adult Fitness and Excercise Science (AFES), and K-12 Physical Education. Also offered are a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Performance and Sport, with a Sport Industry Operation (SIO) concentration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training Education Program.
Teacher Licensure
Students seeking teaching credentials in physical education must satisfy the teacher licensure program at Metro State in addition to all the requirements of the Human Performance and Sport Department. Requirements for formal admission to the teacher licensure programs, as listed under the teacher education programs section of this Catalog, must also be met. Students should contact the Teacher Education Department for information regarding teacher licensure programs (West Classroom 136).
Additional Requirement
A grade of “C” or better is required for all HPS courses taken in any major/minor concentrations.
