DIME and Metropolitan State University of Denver have formed a partnership that enables students to take MSU Denver courses at DIME. DIME Detroit operates at an approved location in Detroit, Michigan and DIME Denver operates at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. Students can pursue a BA in Music degree with concentrations in Commercial Music Performance, Commercial Songwriting, and Music Industry Studies.

The BA in Music offered by MSU Denver at DIME is a liberal arts degree in which music and general studies content is integrated throughout all coursework.  Students are exposed to a broad curriculum that includes studies in history, the arts and humanities, and the sciences.  Music is integrated into general studies courses, and the liberal arts are integrated into music courses throughout the degree program.

Detroit Institute of Music Education (DIME) is a music institute that is custom built for serious musicians who desire a long-term, professional career in commercial music.  Courses offered by MSU Denver at DIME are designed to build strong musical and academic foundations, which allow students to seize opportunities for long and sustained careers in the music industry.

These degrees are offered only through the MSU Denver at DIME program.  This program is taught in a cohort model, and students pay a fixed tuition rate for the program.  Students are required to take courses with their cohort for the entire sequence of study.  For further information, contact the MSU Denver at DIME program.

A grade of “C-” or better is required for each course in this program to count toward the bachelor’s degree. Students should note that programs differ in the minimum grade required.
