K–12 Physical Education Concentration:


Candidates who wish to obtain Colorado Li censure for K - 12 Physical Education must earn a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a major in Physical Education.  Physical Education majors are required to complete courses in:  Professional activities, the core curriculum (including Physical Education Methods, Anatomical Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, and Motor Learning), as well as required licensure courses.

Licensure candidates need to meet with a K - 12 Physical Education advisor as well as one in Teacher Education.

Athletic Training Major, B.S.


Program Requirements


All candidates for a bachelor of science degree in Athletic Training must satisfy the General Studies, the multicultural and the department requirements as described below.

Adult Fitness and Exercise Science Concentration:


This concentration is for those seeking an entrance into the adult fitness profession or those who have aspirations in the exercise science field through advanced degree work in exercise physiology. For those interested and capable of pursuing an advanced graduate degree with adult fitness and exercise science as a foundation, there are careers in research, college teaching, hospitals, and private corporate fitness program development.

Notes:


Students must have a 2.75 GPA to be eligible for an internship.

It is recommended that students take HPS 2060, Emergency Rescue/First Responder and CPR, or verify equivalent certification.

Sport Industry Operations Concentration:


This concentration is intended to be of interest to students and practicing professionals who want to explore the business side of sport industry operations.
