About the Program
At the Advanced Manufacturing Sciences Institute, students become part of a new generation of innovators shaping the future of American manufacturing. Through hands-on experiences and interdisciplinary learning, you’ll explore how smarter, leaner technologies and advanced processes are transforming the way products, materials, and systems are designed and produced.
The Advanced Manufacturing Operations major helps you develop both the technical expertise and leadership skills needed to succeed in today’s high-tech manufacturing environment. You’ll gain a strong foundation in advanced manufacturing methods, automation, and operations management-preparing you for diverse career paths in production, logistics, and process innovation.
As a student in this program, you will:
- Earn industry credentials by completing certifications from the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) at your own pace. Achieving Gold Certification allows you to earn college credit and demonstrate mastery of key technical competencies.
- Customize your learning through general studies courses available in person or online, supporting flexibility and balance in your academic journey.
- Apply what you learn through Operations Management coursework focused on real-world problem-solving, supply chain efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
- Build leadership and analytical skills essential for managing the production of goods and delivery of services in modern manufacturing and logistics environments.
Student Outcomes
- Technical Skills
