MTL 3740 - Statistics and Probability for Elementary Mathematics

Prerequisite(s): MTL 3600 with a grade of “C” or better, or permission of instructor

Description: This course is an exploration of basic concepts of statistics and probability that are relevant to elementary education, including the application ofthese concepts to the interpretation of educational research and the assessment of student learning. Topics will include the nature and use of data, types of data, representations of data, basic concepts of probability, conclusions and inference with a focus on educational research, an introduction to qualitative research, and assessment of student learning.
