Urban Agriculture Certificate


This certificate will provide increased knowledge and understanding of skills as related to the urban agricultural industry and specifically assist anyone wanting to know where their food comes from, what is in their food, and how to grow, raise, harvest, and process a variety of fruits, vegetables, proteins, and cheeses. Students must be accepted to the University and take courses for credit. The cost of the program is the same as undergraduate tuition for degree-seeking students. Students with similar courses in their prior experience may request that courses be transferred to meet part of the certificate requirements.

Admission and Graduation Requirements

This certificate program is open to all undergraduate, degree-seeking students and to non-degree-seeking students. To be awarded the program certificate, the student must meet the following requirements:

  1. review the certificate program plan with an advisor prior to enrollment;
  2. achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher in the certificate program;
  3. earn at least a “C” or better in each of the certificate courses; and
  4. earn a minimum of 60% of required courses at MSU Denver.
