SEDM 6250 - Effective Behavioral Support Systems

Prerequisite(s): Conditional admission to the MAT program

Description: This course provides an in-depth exploration of the principles and applications of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavior modification techniques. Emphasis is placed on the critical analysis and implementation of systematic behavioral assessments, including comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and the development of evidence-based behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Students will engage with advanced classroom intervention strategies and learn to integrate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles within diverse educational settings, encompassing both general and special education environments. The course includes a 15-hour field experience.
