Admission requirements for Post-Baccalaureate students seeking licensure include evidence of having a conferred Bachelor ’ s degree, as well as having met the colleges and departments admission criteria. Upon application to the Teacher Education Program, copies of all official transcripts from colleges attended, including the transcript from the conferring baccalaureate degree institution, must be submitted to the Teacher Application Center if those transcripts are not already on file wit the college. Post-baccalaureate students should see an advisor in both their content area and in the Teacher Education Department at their earliest opportunity for a complete transcript review. Visit the Teacher Education office for detailed information on advisors in all departments with programs relating to Teacher Education.
Students may begin the licensure program by taking the first education courses in their licensure sequence. The completion of the licensure content exam is expected at the students earliest opportunity once all required content area courses are complete.
It may be necessary for a Post-Baccalaureate candidate to complete additional courses in their chosen content area. These courses are in addition to the licensure sequence course work required to complete their approved teacher licensure program.
Post-Baccalaureate Secondary Education Licensure is available in the following content areas: English, Social Studies (African and African American Studies, Behavioral Science, Chicana/o Studies, Economics, History, Political Science), Mathematics, and Science.
