ALP 4492 - Alternative Licensure Program: General Education Semester II

Prerequisite(s): Students must meet all Alternative Licensure Program admission requirements. Students must successfully pass ALP 4491.
Description: This course builds on the foundational knowledge and skills developed in Semester I of the Alternative Licensure Program. Candidates deepen their understanding of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment practices that promote equitable student achievement. Emphasis is placed on differentiating instruction for diverse learners, analyzing student data to inform decision-making, and fostering student engagement through culturally responsive pedagogy. Candidates will also explore strategies for collaboration with colleagues, families, and communities to support student learning and well-being. Concurrent fieldwork provides sustained opportunities to implement, assess, and refine instructional practices in the classroom. Successful completion of this course demonstrates a candidate’s readiness to continue with full instructional responsibility and progress toward meeting the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards for professional licensure.
