SPA 2010 - Intermediate Spanish I

Prerequisite(s): SPA 1020 or placement or two years of high school Spanish or its equivalent with a grade of “C-” or better

Description: Intermediate Spanish I builds on SPA 1010 - Elementary Spanish I and SPA 1020 - Elementary Spanish II as the first course in a two-semester, integrated, second-year sequence. Students continue developing their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills with an emphasis on functional, communicative language that promotes oral and written proficiency as well as cultural understanding. Class is conducted primarily in Spanish. Students engage in a wide range of interactive activities designed to strengthen language knowledge and foster the ability to use Spanish confidently and effectively in real-world communication.
