DSML 4220 - Deep Learning

Credits: 4

Prerequisite(s): CS 2050 AND (CS 3120 OR MTH 3210) AND (MTH 3130 OR MTH 2140 OR MTH 3140)

Description: Students learn how deep learning neural networks are able to take advantage of huge volumes of data and abundant computing resources to solve problems traditional machine learning methods can not. Students are also exposed to the basic concepts behind early neural networks and how mathematical and computational techniques can be applied in order to design, train, and utilize modern deep neural network architectures. Ethical implications and responsible usage are also discussed.
