Environmental Science Minor

About the Program


Environmental Science is a discipline that prepares you to understand - and help solve - some of the most pressing challenges facing the world today. From sustainable growth and pollution control to learning about water problems and ecosystem degradation, students learn to analyze environmental challenges and find possible solutions. The Environmental Science minor allows you to explore ecological resiliency through a wide range of field, laboratory, and classroom courses on topics including, but not limited to, soil science, water resources and management, mountain environments, waste remediation, and environmental policy.

Program Requirements


  • This minor is a total of 19 credits.
  • All courses must be passed with a “C-” or better to count towards the minor.
  • Only three hours of electives may be an internship or directed study.

Elective Courses: 6 credits


Select at least 6 semester hours from any Environmental Science course. Note: Only 3 hours may be an internship or directed study. 

  • ENV 2000:4999 - Any Environmental Sciences Course
  • ENV 200X:499X - Any ENV Variable Topics Course
