About the Program

The Minor in French offers students a structured pathway to develop proficiency in the French language while deepening their knowledge of the diverse cultures of the Francophone world. Through coursework that integrates language study with literature, film, history, and cultural analysis, students build strong communication skills and cultural literacy that are applicable across disciplines and professions.

Open to students from all academic backgrounds, the French minor complements majors in the humanities, social sciences, international studies, business, education, and beyond. By fostering intercultural awareness and global competence, the program prepares students for careers in fields such as diplomacy, international relations, education, translation, business, and the arts, as well as for graduate study.
