SLHS 4300 - SLHS Senior Experience or SLPA

Description: Students participate in a seminar that supports their cumulative learning regarding the field of speech, language, and hearing sciences. Ethics, case management, evidence-based problem solving, and current professional topics/issues are addressed. The academic content in this course applies to graduate degrees in SLHS or in partial fulfillment of requirements for SLP-A credentials in the state of Colorado. This course must be taken concurrently with SLHS 3980 (number of credits depends on post-graduation pathway) which integrates academic content and experiential learning.
Note: For general senior experience: Students need senior status; permission of instructor or department chair required to enroll. Students must achieve a C or better to count towards the SLHS degree.
For SLPA consideration: Students must have no lower than a 2.5 GPA for all pre-requisite SLHS coursework to be eligible for the course and must apply to be considered. For the fall semester cohort, students must submit all required materials to the department by the second Friday of March. For the spring semester cohort, students must submit all required materials to the department by the first Friday in October. Only complete applications will be considered.
