ECO 3600 - Economics of Race and Gender

Prerequisite(s): ECO 1040 or ECO 2010 or ECO 2020; or permission of instructor

This course applies the tools of economic analysis to issues that relate to African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and women. The course analyzes labor markets and how occupational choices and earnings vary systematically by these groups of color and by gender. The course also examines in detail the intended and unintended consequences of several policies that have addressed this situation. Finally, economic tools are applied to non-labor market behavior and are used to examine other outcomes that vary by race, ethnicity and gender. (Multicultural) (Crosslisted with WMS 3650)
