Prerequisite(s): Minimum performance standard scores on the reading and writing preassessment placement tests
A course that facilitates the development of a sociological perspective as it applies to understanding the social forces that shape persons’ lives, interests and personalities. Emphasis is on the scientific study of groups; the importance of culture; the processes of socialization, social control, and social conflict; and the major institutions of society.
