SOC 3140 - The Black Community

This course relates fundamental concepts and theories of sociology and African American studies to the study of the black community through an analysis of the educational, political, religious, economic and family dimensions. It emphasizes local, national and international black communities. Classic and contemporary Black community studies are examined. Credit will be granted for only one prefix: SOC or AAS.
